Allan Macintyre was born in 1968 in Sea Level North Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Bowdoin College in 1990, and his Master of Fine Arts in photography from Massachusetts College of Art in 1994. He has taught in the visual arts programs at Colorado College and Princeton University and is currently based in Connecticut.
